Maintenance/Locations



Locations are the individual stores (or the Warehouse) within the chain. Although each Location is related, each has unique properties that enable them to be specifically identified for operational and reporting functions.


Locations may be split up into 4 distinct types, these are specified in the "Location Type" selection box

  • Retail Store
    • This is a normal retail store owned by the company. These stores are responsible for their own stock levels and communicate with Head Office.
  • Franchise store
    • Same as a retail store essentially but using the Franchise options allows you to identify franchise stores separately for reporting
    • Setting a Location as a Franchise also prevents sensitive data (such as sales and performance information) from being reported to other locations
  • Warehouse
    • Warehouse locations differ from Others in that any transfers to them are automatically processed without need for confirmation see 
      • Transfer Stock
      • Receipt Stock
  • Virtual (Mail Order)
    • This is a virtual location which may be tied to a location. If this is set all mail order sales will be split into a sperate location by the comms thus appearing they were done at a sperate site.
  • Consignment location
    • Consignment Locations are sites or stores that do not belong to the company (e.g. an agent or a reseller). This setting allows Ramsys to track stock transferred (e.g. on a 'sale or return' basis) and sold at those stores - even though they belong to another entity and may not be running Ramsys.       • Remote Consignment Sales, 
      • Transfer Stock
      • Receipt Stock
  • Stocklvl Weight
    • Locations can be given a weighting. this weighting governs how the system splits qty's in an order. See here for more about this


Set Shopify ID

Ramsys can be set to talk to a Shopify Eccomerce store. this option allows you to connect a Ramsys Location to a Shopify store for inventory level Sync.

Note more than one location may be set to the same Shopify Store
